Yes, it is still the case Joe.  Right now, Pre-Screen Moderns are running a total of +63 business days.

I had an interesting conversation (nasty one at that) just now with a wonderful CGC employee, asking why my two pre-screen moderns 'Received' on 1/13/2021 were not even close to being finalized yet.

Got the typical BS about TAT's not being guaranteed, how they're finalizing books Received on 1/11/2021, etc.   But then when I told this person that I had two pre-sceen moderns that were 'Received' on 1/11/2021 already shipped back to me at the end of March 2021, and asked How it is possible that just TWO BUSINESS DAY differences in invoices results in nearly a 20 Business Day TAT difference, she couldn't give me a clear response.  Facts apparently do not matter in the CGC world, its whatever they feel like.

Bad enough that my Pre-Screens have been getting an 33% avg pass rate recently.   CGC is clearly disorganized and needs to get their act together.   Hire competent customer service reps, and graders that grade more accurately to how books were graded in the past.

As long as people keep paying them money, they have no reason to change. I’ve heard from few a folks complaining ( some justified) turn right back around and send more books lol.  I mean why would they care you know? They know the majority won’t pay top dollar for cbcs books(unless it’s major key), pgx is a joke, so they know you will be back. What are you gonna do? Own/sell RAW books eww. Lol

I like my raw books. I see your point, though. I would only add a word of caution. The faster they have to go, the more mistakes they are going to make. Several recent threads about botched slabbing with serious damage resulting. I don't know where QC fits into all that, but other companies who may not be so "busy" look pretty good to me right now.

Yeah the raw statement is a joke, you got CGC loyalist on here who think a book is only veryfine if CGC tells them it is. And yeah I understand if you look elsewhere. I think I might just keep mine in Mylar and be done for a short time. I only have one package left at CGC.

Raw can be a joke to them. Fine with me. They aren't their books. I imagine most loyalists do it for the bump in value which seems to be significant. I am not interested in money really. Whatever is wrong with CGC right now isn't going to get fixed right away. Last thing I need is to send in my nice Detective 411 and have it come back torn or crammed into a slab damaged. It looks fine in a mylar.

My books were finalized this morning. What is interesting is I had moderns that were submitted the same day go to safe/shipped on 3/26. I picked them up on 3/30. So, in reality it was modern + 18 business days for me.

My pass rate was 28/32 for 87.5%. A huge win these days, but low compared to my old average.

68 days and counting if my numbers are right. Still have prescreens received 2/11 and 3/5 as well but am sending all my more recent submissions sans prescreen as they are seemingly taking forever on those subs.

So, everyone is ok with books being received in the beginning of January and are still scheduled for grading (Not been graded yet). Does that imply that they have thousands upon thousands of book perhaps sitting and waiting to be graded? Doesn't the thought of books being away that long make clients nervous? It sort of increases the law of averages in that they could suffer damage. Moved from one spot to the other or even substituting your book for someone else's.

It doesn't seem likely that higher standards could be maintained if the employees are being made to go faster than they ought to. Or is it they aren't going fast enough?

Speaking only for myself, I think I would just have someone else perform a resto check and if they passed, apply a grade myself I thought was within reason. If I were a seller. Probably we know enough about grades ourselves and books in general where we could do that. If we were way off base, we wouldn't be selling many books.

I'd be on pins and needles for more than 4 months waiting for my book(s) to come back. Given the stories that have been circulating recently concerning slabbing damage and QC looking the other way, this is something I wouldn't participate in unless there was an obvious change for the better. I mean, we can say "YAH! But my books come back FINE! Just hafta WAIT!" Yes, but it's when they DON'T come back fine that is becoming the problem. And perhaps the reality is they are simply overworked. A good company will listen to suggestions from employees and customers and try to streamline things while losing no quality.

Evident that the strangeness on what gets graded and when continues...

The much delayed 15 book Modern Fast Track Press and Grade that was finally received last week was graded in a day (much like the 5 book Value Fast Track Press & Grade) whilst both 15 book Modern Fast Track Grade and Eastman Magazine Signings still sitting at Scheduled for Grading from mid last week. (shrug)

I gave them a call this morning, they stated that walkthrough's are taking 3-4 Business days just to receive them in. Sounds like they are utterly swamped as the customer service rep rattled off a canned statement about how many books they are getting a day, but she was pretty helpful.

I was watching a YouTube Video by The Comic Doctor (a CPS Specialist) and he said when he called CGC to ask what with the high wait times he was told they Are getting thousands of books a day.

If that's the case I wonder how much time they are spending reviewing each book

I had some books that went down in December Just come back
