I've posted this a few times, but it's appropriate for this thread. I'd definitely call this distress...

Distress? You can look at that cannon in another way. It could be symbolic. The positioning is only a bit off. Great cover.

I think there's no doubt that it's symbolic. The cannon is obviously phallic, the position of the barrel against her body, and the fact that the Germans are loading it. It's about to blow!

 

Either way, literal or symbolic, she's definitely in distress.

I always liked this one too. Can't figure it out though. By the look on the werewolf's face, it's hard to tell if he wants to save the girl.... or just get to her first.
