Well, isn't that interesting. I picked this up from a local dealer (Indianapolis area), and there was pretty much a nice little run of these FF's from like issue 19-43. I picked this one out as this seemed like one of the nicer ones of the group. He sent in #29 himself and it got a 9.4 but had color touch. He said these were supposedly from an original owner collection, so he was rather shocked and bummed with the color touch on that one and hoped mine didn't come back the same way, but it checked out ok, (whew). So who knows what the real story is behind that lot of books, you just never know.

and thanks for the heads up about the Bethlehem Pedigree.

Cheers,

Cool! The comics you posted above splendidly illustrate how Stan Lee managed to wean eleven and twelve year old readers from DC in 1964:

1. Action! Punch-ups on every cover and every other page.

2. Continuity, both issue-to-issue and inter-title with cross-overs galore! You couldn't just buy the one issue; you had to get the others for the whole story.

3. Making the reader feel as if he was part of it all, e.g. - "Have we got a tale for you! Please don't frustrate us! You've got to read it!", "And more super bone-head mistakes than ever!", "And never have you read such a boastful blurb!"

Good stuff!

I don't care what kind of box office receipts they generate these days. I still say Fantastic Four was Marvel's flagship title in the Silver Age.

Great books, "Hep." I'm a big fan of Metal Men and of course Supermans. Love both the Christmas cover and the Superman Annual 8. You have some of the best books on these boards!
