How is Vertigo with sharing movie rights on creator owned projects?

 

Here are some anecdotal data points: Charles Soule who writes like six or twelve legacy books for Marvel/DC did his Letter 44 at ONI. Sean Murphy has said his Punk Rock Jesus rights are with Vertigo, and his next project is going to be at Image. Brian Vaughn is only now getting the rights to YTLM from Vertigo/New Line but it looks like Garth Ennis was able to sell the rights to Preacher early on.

 

Maybe after realizing both AV and The Wake could have made Snyder a bunch of production dough, it was time to bring his next good idea somewhere that would give creators more or all participation in TV/movie rights.

 

Purely speculating. Probably just good to diversify yourself in the industry...

If you want a steady paycheck, you work for the big 2. If you are creative enough and want to invest in your own ideas, you take those ideas to Image and leave the retreading for your big 2 work.
