Binder Holes -- and the Mo-rons who Punch Them...

Here's an academic question for the group. What's the highest possible grade you'd give a book whose previous owner eschewed the traditional bags and boards for his or her archiving needs and opted instead for a convenient THREE-RING BINDER!

 

Pretend the book below was VF/NM, except for the *&*^#$%(*^#$% BINDER HOLES. How high would you grade the book?

the book would get a qualified grade by CGC, i've actually seen a thread with a qualified CGC NM- 9.2 with holes punched in the book.

I just can't understand the grades given to books that have 3 holes of missing material in both covers and every single interior page.

I'd say Good. But I also wouldn't buy a book that had holes punched in it like that.

Lucky for all of us most collectors never hole punched comics. I have seen several over the years and also a collection of them. The worst I ever saw was a Captain America #3 which would grade maybe VF- without the holes.
