Are there any real collectors left out there ? Someone who buys a book and actually keeps it ?

There are 3 ways you will EVER see my Avengers Peds for sale

1) a unbelievably unforeseen life changing event

2) my son selling them after I die

3) my ex somehow getting her hands back on them

Then weigh and mark with invisible ink every single comic that comes out. Weigh them to the billigram. That way trimming can ALWAYS be detected.

I'm going to read this comment with a grain of salt! :/

But what if the trimmer puts grains of salt in the fold of the book to offset the weight?

CGC will detect that in the 'shaking' phase of grading.

Also known as the 'hurling' phase where they throw the book against the wall to dislodge foreign elements.

I'd be very surprised if CGC eats a 5-6k book.

Wouldn't be the first time.

There's a thread around here somewhere where a 3rd print TMNT 1 was mislabeled and sold as a 9.8 1st print.

Ha ha this always comes up. That was PGX and may have been some sort of scam.

Similar situation, but nowhere near the same grade/value, and not the same book. Boards thread here.

Nope. Not that story. This was a CGC mislabel that they made right. Look a few pages back in this thread. Someone linked to it.
