Seemed like the right place to post this. I ran across a Hulk #1 First Appearance of the Hulk cgc 5.0 for $500. No feedback and from Indonesia. 99% sure this is fake. Or do you take the chance because of eBay and PayPal guarantees.

How do you determine shill bidding anyway? I mean is it just taking the time to look though their sold items? What patterns would indicate potential shill bidding? 

The "winning buyer" has a bid activity percentage with that particular seller of 37%.  There aren't many arm's length buyers who bid on that high a percentage of one seller's auctions.  ….and if they didn't pay, they would most likely be blocked for "non-payment" in future transactions.  This book was relisted within the hour.  Perhaps others may disagree, but to me, this is a very high indication of shill bidding.

I would have to disagree. I have sellers I bid and buy from all the time. Unless I’m misunderstanding you.

If a buyers holding a negative feedback over your head take the time to call eBay and make them aware. They don’t mess around with that in my experience.

Basically give me a partial refund or I will neg you. I actually don't care about the neg, but the full refund on the book - which I would normally do - would be a pain in the rear because it wasn't cheap.

He's saying the supposed buyer must have canceled the transaction and would have ended up blocked if he was one of those type buyers and thus would not accrue a 37% bid activity in the first place.
