Can this slightly blunted corner be pressed out? 0

Hey yall, I've got a 9.6 saga RRP that the only defect on it at all is this blunted corner. It looks as if the top layer of the paper was pushed up from a slight impact, but does not look like any cover material is actually missing. Could this be pressed out, or is it a permanent defect that will keep this from ever being a 9.8? Thanks in advance, your opinions and help are appreciated.

The CCS website considers round or blunted corners to be a "bad" defect, not a defect that would benefit from pressing.

Yeah, that kind of defect can be "fixed" but it won't really be any better.

There are a few "if's" involved here.

 

If the paperis only folded over it should improve.

If there is no color break the grade should improve.

If the book has enough value to do a CPR on.

 

What does the rest of the book ok look like?

The rest of the book looks perfect. Its litterally only this corner. That was my dilemma, it looks like the paper is just pushed up slightly, the crease doesntt break color.
