I've also taken into consideration that i think it is tougher to find a complete coverless copy than a complete copy and that it is the entry level for collectors so bidding will always be more since complete copies are out of reach for most.  In today's market, ANYTHING can happen.  And I agree with jgallo that a complete copy with supple pages is in that price range.

Complete coverless can be very tough. So many coverless copies have been used for missing parts. It’s not at all uncommon to see key coverless books missing the centerfold, first few wraps, etc.

If supply is low and 2+ people need a blue label coverless to complete/upgrade their caps it could go high in auction.  If no one cares, low.  8k-15k imo.

Oh yeah I agree 100% that if 2 people needed one it would sell for a premium, as that would apply to any coverless complete comic. I currently need a back cover to my Batman 1, and would absolutely pay more for a back cover if one came up for auction. Whatever it would take to get it.

So in the scenario someone or multiple people owned a loose cover and needed a coverless complete Cap 1 that happened to come up for sale, I once again agree it would likely sell for more than usual. I personally feel that's a very rare scenario though, especially for two people to happen to have loose covers, but it's definitely possible. I mean in private settings, I imagine there may be covers out there with dealers that we don't know of and who would pay more for a coverless comic to complete it. But at auction, I have very rarely seen loose pages or covers come up for sale. Have seen it a handful of times, but not often. I've definitely seen more coverless comics go up for sale at auction than loose covers, that's for sure.

This is what happened to me 4 or 5 years back.  I needed a Cap 1 CF, had searched for 5 years with no luck to find one, but then a horrendously bad coverless copy of it came up on CC or CL.  All the wraps were split at the spine except the CF, and at least 6 pages had panels cut out.  In my mind I figured $4000 would be enough to win it (remember, prices were lower back then), but I got into a bidding war with someone else and I ended up shelling out $8000 for it.  I figured it might be my last time to realistically have a shot at getting the Cap 1 CF so I went all in.  I am SOOOO happy I did.

Beautiful copy and well done.  Married CF isn't a big deal to me, especially if the page quality of the CF is close to the other pages.

It has a lesser page quality, but I don't care.  Beggars can't always be choosers on CFs.  At least the CF is complete with no giant rips or anything like that.

I just noticed the Cap 1 CGC 2.5 that was on Clink for a few months then removed when the low grade Cap 1 CGC 1.5 sold on ComicConnect for $70K is now showing sale pending $95,000.

Cap 1 2.5

Wow, that’s interesting. I know a very nice looking 3.5 sold on Heritage very recently for just under $120K.

My Bat 1 was missing back cover. 3 years ago I found a guy selling front and back cover on eBay. Both covers were glued to a notebook binder. Matt was able to remove both and dry clean them. I graded the front cover and it got blue label. I kept the back and it's with my Bat1 sitting in a mylar. No plans to attach it.

Before and after of back cover.

Didn’t know this could be done! Do you mind sharing how the back of the cover looks like after removing from the binder?

Just curious why you graded the front cover alone? And why not get your coverless Bat 1 graded with both covers?

Any scans of the slabbed front cover?

I didn't need the front cover so grading it made it easy to sell. My Bat 1 is a .5 incomplete so no need to grade. If I did grade it would get qualified.

P.S. you need to reduce the size of images in your signature line.
