The second biggest comic convention of the year is up this weekend New York Comic Con. So it is time for another Best of the Best Con competition for BotB

 

Best of the Best Convention Competition.

 

So up this week… :

New York Comic Con

 

The prize stays the same at the end of the year the four free submission’s that come with a subscription renewal.

 

So here we go, its time to show off your Best of the Best Comic Convention Pick-ups. This is the category where ANY SKETCH GOES. That's right, you have a Daredevil, put up your Daredevil, you have a Carrot Man, put up the Flamer, you have a Harley Quinn doing her best impression of that stupid Cannon Ball song, throw it up on here. Any sketch acquired at this Convention is up for the Best of the Best Comic Con Pick-up at the end of the year. Pending they win this Con fight first...

 

Remember any sketch shown here is still eligible for the Best of the Best in whatever category is out there still so don't think to hold out simply because you want to have the spiffy little icon at the bottom of your page. It just needs to be posted here in order to compete for the Best of the Best Challenge for the weekend of 9-12 Oct. Comic Con 2014 Competition and become eligible for Comic Con Pick-Up of the year.

 

But as always before you all start throwing everything and anything up, here are some rules

 

 

1) First and foremost the sketch being nominated has to be PICKED UP at any of this weeks Comic Con(s). It can be through an opp, it can be through a prearrangement by the artist on Facebook, or it can be an on the floor pick-up, but it has to be completed and submitted at one Con or the other for CGC SS or in future events through the facilitators. It cannot be for an opp that happens to be going at the same time but yet has nothing to do with any of the four or five Comic Con(s). Use the honor system, it works.

2) It has to be submitted to CGC. It can be an on-site grading or sent off but once completed it has to be given a grade or in the case of the Troy blanks, No Grade...

3)If you know of a sketch that you think is the best nominate it. One nomination per owner only PER CON. Owner with multiple sketches nominated must pick only one sketch to be voted on.

4)Use the THE 2014 SKETCH COVER SUPER/MEGA THREAD to post all of your other amazing pick-ups from the show. This one needs to be that one Oh My God Becky Look At Her Sketch, It's So... yeah exactly.

5)At 7pm of the the last day of the Convention you have exactly FIVE Days to place your nomination in for consideration. That gives you long enough to upload a photo into your CAF,photobucket, or wherever as well as your Facilitator enough time to take a photo and send it to you to be able to be considered for this round.

6)When nominating, please include artist name and owner's board name. Any sketch w/o all this info will not be eligible.Recommend way to present the sketch is:

 

Owner: Bob the Builder

Artist: Johnny Ballz

 

Followed by the photo

 

This simply makes it easy for me to copy and paste your stuff. Think about it, there are currently 50 running Best of the Best Competitions, around 60 of these Conventions going on. And roughly 5 - 10 sketches at least per Convention that seems to get posted on THE 2014 SKETCH COVER SUPER/MEGA THREAD. Just be kind... please.

 

As for the other boring rules.

 

7) Round 1: All nominated Sketches will be voted on in a Poll that will begin Friday afternoon following the Con at 7pm and run for 72 hours. Then the Top 2 will face off for another 48 hours. The winner will be declared the Best of the Best New York Comic Con Sketch and will go on to compete in the Best of the Best Comic Con Pick-Up at the end of the year

8) Tie Breaks: In the event of a tie for the second spot in the Finals, a 48 hour sudden death round between the tied sketches will be implemented. In the event of a tie at the end of the finals, a 24 hour sudden death poll will be implemented.

9)What makes the best sketch is up to the voter: Best Art, Artists, Grade …

 

Finally

10)There are NO challenges following the undisputed winner of each Con. Once they win they will be pooled in with the next Con and so forth. On December 20th I will build a Poll Incorporating the first 10 Con's alphabetically per. Winner of each will go into the Semi-Finals, and the Top Two Commissions will duke it out for the Grand Prize.

 

Remember

Have fun and score some amazing pick-up's. For the first time I know of, you can actually get something with it.
