One Of Hollywood Rising Stars Has Expressed Interest On The SPIDER-MAN's Lead Role

----------------------

The search for the Spider-Man that will star along Captain America and Iron Man in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and his own SPIDER-MAN solo films set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has barely started, and we have already seen the name of young actors like Dylan O'Brien, Logan Lerman, Donald Glover and Freddie Highmore among those who are been speculated or that would love to play the role. Well, here comes a new challenger since the 17-year-old HUGO and ENDER'S GAME star Asa Butterfield has expressed interest on playing Peter Parker in the big screen.

Well, first I heard Spider-man would avoid the origin story the next time around, and avoid high school and teenage drama, and now it looks possible we are headed back into angst-land. It cant be worse than the last one...right??

Dylan O'Brien Still Hasn't Heard Anything About SPIDER-MAN

Ever since Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures announced their plans to share Spider-Man, rumors about the wall-crawler's casting have circulated far and wide. Some reports say he's going to be a teenager, some reports say he'll be a different race, some say it'll either be Logan Lerman or Dylan O'Brien, and there have even been a few claiming Tobey Maguire is coming back, so It's a little hard to say what fans should believe.

Based on this interview, it looks like Marvel hasn't contacted O'Brien yet. Could this mean he was never being considered? Or has Marvel simply not begun casting yet? Captain America: Civil War is still a ways away, so it's completely fathomable that all the Spidey casting murmers were a bit premature. Or could this all be an elaborate ruse and he's just playing coy a la Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) & Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange)? Another view of the interview shows O'Brien's manager getting upset with the reporter as soon as she asks the question.

Maybe if SONY's next installment of Underworld stalls, they can get Theo James in between Divergent movies. They (Screen Gems) were planning for him to take over the reigns of that franchise from Kate.

Nobody puts Katie in the corner! :taptaptap:

Put me down as saying Dylan is the next Spider-man. Where there's this much smoke, there's fire. (thumbs u

I have to agree, there is something going on. Latino Review has been hitting home runs for a long while. Though they do always throw out the occassional warning decisions at studios can always change.

Marvel CCO Joe Quesada Says Character Is Key To Marvel's PETER PARKER/SPIDER-MAN

When one fan asked Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada on his Tumblr what he thinks is one of the most important things to get this next version of Spider-Man right, he replied: "The trick to making any incarnation of Spider-Man great, whether comics, animation or film is Peter Parker. Get Peter’s character right and the rest falls into place."

RUMOUR: Is ENDER'S GAME Actor A Candidate For MCU's Spider Man?

Now, this certainly should be taken with a grain of salt, but Latino Review has just reported that Hugo actor Asa Butterfield may be on the 'list' of candidates as well. Butterfield himself has expressed an interest in playing Spidey on Reddit , so perhaps it could happen after all? This would also reaffirm that Marvel is looking to cast a relatively young actor for the long haul.

MEET THE MOVIE PRESS Rumor Round Up: Spider-Man

After initially looking at actors of all ethnicities, Sony and Marvel supposedly have narrowed the search for the next Spider-Man to young (15-18 years), white actors. Asa Butterfield (Ender's Game, Hugo) and Nolan Gould (Modern Family) are among several young actors rumored to have gone in for the part. It is unclear if there is a front runner at this time.
