Junkdrawer
These books are now up for auction at Heritage http://comics.ha.com/itm/platinum-age-1897-1937-/miscellaneous/p/7147-103001.s?ic2=myconsignmentspage-lotlinks-12202013 I had met a husband and wife who set up at a flea market recently and I do make it a point to ask most about comic books whenever I'm asked what it is I am looking for. Last week was no different. I asked and the husband (Michael) told me he had a few comics at home and he told me mostly Fantastic Four and they were mostly 40 cent books in less than mint condition. I didn't like the sound of it, but this morning I drove just 4 towns over at 8:30am and Michael was outside waiting, unloading his truck. We talked and I was able to see some stuff in the garage and then he asked me to come to the house to see the books. Just as I imagined, bagged junk. A Thor 337 in about 7.0 was possibly the highlight of this day. He also had a pile of undergrounds, pretty beat up, some 5th print Zaps etc. He said I saved the best for last. I asked to use the bathroom and he went to go get his best for last. I just hate when I am confronted with something I just cannot find info on. I searched HA.com and they have never sold these raw or graded. Nothing on Clink or ComicConnect. Even ebay current or sold came up blank. I knew one thing, I must have these books. Pics coming Edited July 3, 2015 by Junkdrawer
Junkdrawer
Here's the Yellow Kid #1. Front cover missing, BC attached. CGC shows just a single graded 2.5 universal. Appears to have the top corners cut off, why I don't know. Was it for the case of returns, that was his assumption. It didn't sway me from obtaining this run. Heres #2, CGC shows a pair of 3.0s and a .5 in the registry #3 shows a 5.5, 4.5, and a 2.5 #4 None on the registry #5 shows a lone 5.0 #6 shows a 4.5 and a 1.0 #7 shows a lone 5.0 #8 a lone 4.0 #9 just a lone 5.0 qualified And looks like #11 theres none

jaeldubyoo
That is a nice find. What's the reason for the clipped corners?

Junkdrawer
Seeing as though not even CGC has had issue #4 in their hands, I thought some may be interested to see whats inside of these books. I took a few shots here of a few select pages. Neat little blurbs of 19th century humor and cartoons. Hope you can read them. Some are just hard to get. Funny thing I always thought that the Carter and the liver pills was about President Jimmy Carter
