Hardest to find classic pre-code crime or horror cover?

One of my top five all time favorites. Elias at his best (and he did a bunch of great covers).
Warren Kremer designed all of the late Harvey horror covers and drew all of the ones not signed by Elias.

I like the ones that have Elias art on the INSIDE :cloud9: GOD BLESS...

That is interesting to know. Do you know why CGC attribute it to Elias?

In my experience, many of the key issues are not the rarest, just the most held on to and the most sought after. There are many books that I really just never see, while many of those key issues I do see (generally at a really high price).

Dale you sick of that MM 1 yet. :popcorn:

This one seems to show up less than others in the Sensation Mystery run lately.

I'm not sure if it's actually less common than others or just "locked up" more.

Either way a higher grade still eludes me.

These are rare, crazy rare. I've been trying for years to upgrade them and they rarely come up for sale. A fourth issue,Vault of Horror #1, was published, but there are no known copies.

I've got two of those I think and they are indeed crazy rare!

I love the blurb on Crypt #2 "Not suitable for Children"

Is this one still hard to find or is it that owners aren't letting go of their copies?

This is right up there with my favorite pre-code horror. Just a great book.

There's one on eBay right now;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/351649017278?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

$183 with 5 days to go, and in my humble estimation, looks no better than a VG.

I agree and the cover looks to be barely hanging on at that top staple.

Edited to add: I'm referring to the eBay book, not Jayman's copy.
