Nothing weird about it - used book stores do this all the time.

There is a newsstand version to this book but this is not it. I believe the bar code is at the bottom.

Todd Toys came out with comics for many of the action figures. I remember when these things first came out, how we raided Toys R Us and paide like $7 or 8 per toy and were flipping them for $15 rather quickly. Finding the comics in high grade may be a challenge, though pressing may help.  Being in the packaging created many bends.

Here is a listing that has them. This may be all. Not sure. Been a long time. Notice the condition.

So, a used book store would put an ISBN number on a price tag? I've never seen a used bookstore do that. And, the funny thing is, this came from a store stock that had all these from when it was published and they had ordered a stack of them from Diamond back then.

If they came from Diamond, they would have been direct copies. A larger book chain would have put barcode stickers on them if they did not have any way to scan or inventory them. I have a newsstand edition of this book. The barcode is on the bottom and it is yellow if I remember correctly. Rarecomics.wordpress.com has an article about this peticular book if you want to read more about it.

Here you go. Not the rarest book on planet earth but high grades are very tough. Mine is not too great but it's the only one I have found.

I've got a newsstand that I showed earlier in this thread, so I know what they look like, but the one with the sticker is weird to me. I can see a used bookstore putting a price sticker on it, but a USED bookstore putting an ISBN sticker on there? Why waste the time when a price sticker would suffice?

I've (obviously) never seen that book before.  That's a seriously neat find. :cloud9:

I have a few of those in my collection now. The first release. which was STGCC I only got 35 of them. all signed by Harvey but two did not get signed. I never again see anymore or any that got out for sale. They are limited to 1000. still to date on the CGC census have I seen anymore graded.

It almost doesn't count because it was a slab and I bought it out of a convention stock from a store sale, but I found a CGC 9.6 Ultimate Spiderman #1 blue Target version for $25 after the sale discount. Really happy about that one. Also picked up Catwoman #51 Hughes cover, but it was a bit more expensive. That's all the shopping I did black friday, but I'd call it a win. I've honestly never seen the blue Target USM in person before, and I've only come across the Catwoman at conventions.

Sorry, I've got some crappy lighting going on...

I'm sure the number is low but I wonder how long they have been noting the difference between the two editions. Wow, only 15 and none above a 9.4. Too bad mine is probably a 7.0....
