Avengers #4 Scotch Guard?

Hey all my friends, purchased this low grade Avengers 4 and knowing it was messed up with the spine tape etc but when I got it the cover looks like it was scotch guarded. Anyone ever experience this? Told the buyer and sent some pictures, figured I would post here just to gai a few thoughts. Thanks
