All-Select #4 in 1.8. Low-grade copy of this scarce Schomburg classic. Very decent eye appeal for the grade. The main defect is that the interior pages have brittle corners... page corners are chipped and rounded, especially the bottom corners (see interior photos), though the right edges are for the most part OK. The book can be curled in hand, so in general there is some suppleness, and with a reasonable amount of care it can be handled and read through without damage. Cover wrap is cleanly detached at the single staple, with some tape on cover corners. Great stories, fantastic splash pages! And a wonderful Captain America Sentinels of Liberty ad. Complete copy. Super tough book in any grade.

Cool book, Jon.  That Village of Vultures splash is wild and unnerving.

Thanks! And so true re the splash. I'm continually amazed by what they could get away with back then.

Battlefront #42 in 4.5. Really nice gloss and electric cover colors. Spine snag under the bottom staple; some creasing to LRC. For some reason this issue seems particularly tough to find, IMO. Offwhite pages.

Wanted Comics #25 UK Edition. Scarce crime comic from the early 1950s, matching the cover art of the US #25 but with simpler, bolder cover elements and a black & white interior. Must be scarce; can't even find info on it in the GCD database (there seem to be a few other UK issues of Wanted, but none that match up with this issue).

Crime Suspenstories #23 in 3.5/4.0. George Evans cover classic, and an issue discussed in the Senate committee testimonials with Bill Gaines. Glossy cover, presents more like a 5.0. A few interior pages have bottom corners torn off or small tears; back cover has left edge chipping a la some copies of #22. Bright OW pages.
