Invincible Iron Man #1 - 9.0 blue label - Stan Lee signing question

Hey everyone,

So I'm new to this board and comics in general, so I may have dived into the deep end a little too quickly with my latest move here. This question sort of applies at a variety of topics, so I hope I'm not too out of place.

The short version of this story is that I'm going to Megacon Orlando in May. Bought my ticket as soon as Stan Lee was on the bill. Knowing that he's about 94 I figured I'd get a once in a lifetime opportunity to get a comic signed, so I dished out a pretty penny on an Invincible Iron Man #1 comic, CGC 9.0 blue label (those last 15 characters or so I was completely oblivious to at the time of the purchase). So as an ignorant buyer I have no reason to be confident in the product other than it's appearance and my conversations with the previous owner, who seems nice, but what con artist doesn't.

Anyway, my question boils down to this. Assuming the comic is legitimate, how should I remove it to get it signed? Will they do that for me at the convention if I ask? Is it even worth removing? And regardless of anything, is it worth getting it regraded for a 'superior' label?

I know this is a lot to unpack so I highly appreciate any veterans who can give me some guidance here. I know I jumped the gun by a mile and should have done this kind of research first, but alas, I'm a insufficiently_thoughtful_person.

Thanks.

Don't remove it yourself and take the comic to CGC's booth or to a CGC facilitator who will be there. DSCOTT a fellow boardie and facilitator will be at that show. Contact him for help through private message on these boards.

Given his age, the fact you can't have a real conversation with him at con other than hi and to for The personalization, and he is 9 on the Death List of 2017 I would just send the comic to a facilitator at whichever show he is going to be at next and let them do everything for you.

Hey Reddwarf,

I really appreciate your input. Your response is exactly why I'm here. Without being a pain in the posterior, or whatever nomenclature you prefer, can I, if it's okay with him knowing the situation put forth, have the contact information of DSCOTT, as I am not a regular board member and do would not know how to get ahold of him, if this is of course okay with him.

I'm just a dude with a comic and no know how. But if I'm aware of anything it's the gravity of the comic and the man I want to sign it. So if you could, if it is okay with him, put me in touch with the facilitator known as DSCOTT who will be at Megacon Orlando 2017, I would greatly appreciate it. And, frankly, the fact that there would be one more comic in this world with that signature being graded by this organization of this caliber, I think would be a benefit to the world in general.

Hope that wasn't too corny. Let me know.

- Lou

Also, I had something signed last year at the meet and greet of Stan Lee at Megacon 2016. Since its value was only to me I didn't care about the logistics. This year I have a real comic so I'm not messing around with the logistics and quality. Year One was my memento. This year is of literal historic significance, of which I take no part and whose role is only to facilitate one more relevant comic into existence.

So if you could answer any of the above questions besides the ones you already have (a tremendous thank you for that, btw) I appreciate it.

Doug is really cool to work with. He'll answer any questions you have. Main suggestion is print a copy of the comic cover ahead of time to include to show where you want stan to sign it at. I have one comic handled by a different facilitator I forgot to send a phot with and where I wanted the comic signed at that Stan signed the head of Cyclops yuck yuck yuck.
