I've seen that copy before because a buddy of mine was offered that book. The original seller's asking price was $575k. I guess he came down on it. It's a beauty.

I even told him that the asking price was aggressive and that the book is worth around half a mil.  Looks like I was on point :flipbait:

In 2009 the CGC 6.0 AC #1 sold for $317k. The value of GA keys has exploded since then. Or have they always been exploding? I remember when GAtor bought a Captain America Comics #1 CGC 4.0 on the boards for around $14k probably around 2010.

Haha quite possibly, but don't really know about the history of the book. So rare to find a Supes #1 in this grade or higher, let alone any unrestored copy still existing.

14k just sounds impossibly cheap now, doesn't it?   I remember looking at buying a supes 1 at one point and thinking I could buy a nice lower grade, maybe 2.0 complete, and it would be expensive but doable.    And today, there's just no chance I'd spend what its worth :/

I bought a 3.0 from him for that price in 2010.
