^ haaaaah. I thought of the exact same thing. ^

So Bronty, do you have the pinball machine too? I’ve always wanted a Creature machine, but they’ve gone up so much over the years. Not unlike art.

I have a couple machines and am planning on buying more over time, but I don't have that one no.

I'm taking a 'one a year' approach to buying pins.

Three  Babes. Had my eye on them all. Glad to add these great artists to my stable.

Won the Sanjulian Heavy Metal cover

Most likely needs a cleaning, but the price was too good to pass up for a classic early Heavy Metal wrap cover

I remembering seeing the lack of action on that and thinking someone got a good deal congrats :)

I sold this painting for Sanjulian back in the mid 80s.

what did something like that cost back then Mitch?

I bet it was $2k if not more, but can't imagine less than $1500. Heavy Metal had a cachet back then that hasn't really kept pace with broader comic art. Same for Sanjulian, his work seems to have an unwritten ceiling at around $10k except for a handful of obvious trophies. That would actually be true of a lot of painted art, Boris, Frazetta, Sienkiewicz and Alex Ross being the rare exceptions.

The HA illustration auctions seem to be down in general (with a few exceptions) the last few cycles. I feel like there’s more bang-for-your-buck for quality illustration art vs. comic art.
