There are many comic books that are smaller than standard Golden Age comic books. Since they come in odd sizes, many of these were not kept and stored, and are now rare.

Great stuff.  I will start posting tomorrow in this thread.  Would be nice to generate more interest in this genre!

Yes, cool thread idea!

I've been intrigued/obsessed with the 1941 Speed digests (3 issues) and Pocket digests (4 issues) for a very long time. Even so, I still only have two of the seven (ouch). Here's Speed Comics #14... Even the back cover is pretty neat.

Fawcett started their paperback line in 1950 (began with #100). This is a graphic novel written by longtime Fawcett staffer Joe Millard. The 3 issues of Love Mystery Comics are very similarly toned.

There were at least 9 of those mini-comic issues, I've only got the 1.  It seems to be the most common of the issues, in that I know there has to be at least 3 copies.  But one of those copies is in such low grade the paper is actually rotting, and it STILL sold for over $300 a few years ago.  I got crazy lucky on a BIN on the bay getting mine.

I would say all of the mini issues like that are Gerber 10's; and it's not impossible there are some that no longer exist.  They seem to have been tied to one very small bakery chain.

These are issues from Sciuscià, a strip-sized important series that came out after WW2 – not all issues are strictly related to war events but many episodes are (episodes ran for more than a single issue, in continuation). I am collecting little by little the ones where the action is set during the war.
