Recommended shops in Vancouver, BC?

The wife and I are headed to Vancouver and I'm wondering if there are any shops worth checking out up there?  There was a thread here a couple years ago about this, but I'd imagine the comic shop scene in Vancouver, as it is in many cities, is changing rapidly.

There are a not a lot of great comic shops in Vancouver.

I'm a little out of touch on what's good but the best was always Golden Age in the downtown core.   All the old books were at the back.

There's also Central City Comix and Tasmanian Comics.

That first list you provided ALONE will keep us busy.  lol  There are some pretty cool places on there!  Between visiting those stores in the link and the comic shops you mentioned, then laying down a trail of Reece's Pieces to lure Greggy away from his dungeon so we can raid his comic book hoard and pilfer his extensive collection of Strawberry Shortcake and Longshot #1's, it should be a busy weekend.  (thumbsu

The Comicshop in the Kits area has the feelings of old school store. They do have some good back issues in some boxes. Lots of newer current comics in racks.  Golden Age in Granville area in downtown is a good store. Lots of GA/SA/BA books under the counters far in back of store inside. Lots of graphic novels, manga and stuff.

Big Pete's is another good store in North Vancouver.  I think at least about 5 stores around greater Vancouver are worth in visiting.

Unfortunately, if you want to find the true vintage collectible books that have half decent value, Pat most likely have them all locked away and not available for sale.  :frown:

If it's more recent stuff like common BA and CA keys and non-keys, you are probably good to go.  (thumbsu

When are you visiting here and where are you from?

We're coming up next weekend (not this coming one).  We're living in Seattle, currently, so this will be our first trip north of the border!

Why waste your time with Vancouver? Seattle is a much nicer city. :baiting:

I have heard tales of some lumbering, romance book-collecting creepers who live up north, but we're in need of a change of scenery, so we're going to risk it.

Go to Victoria instead. The collector are much nicer there than the ones in Vancouver.

I know... I had seen some of Pat's better stuff in person. Some real nice ones!

I had placed my offer to him in buying one or two books. Pat said he will let me one day when he's ready.

You are likely to have a third encounter of a book-collecting creeper in person at my favourite LCS. lol

This sunday there is a small Vancouver comic show...but you won't be here.

If you're staying downtown I'd recommend Golden Age on Granville if you need to hit a comic shop. Lots and lots of trades and some decent back issues.

What I'd really recommend is not wasting any time in comic shops as you're not going to find any gems but just take in the local scenery...Grouse mountain, Seawall bike ride, Granville island, Whistler! (pretty sure the beer festival is that weekend)
