What would you grade the following book?

Ragged and rolled, some pieces out and too many cumulative defects to mention, but on the whole, it's complete, looks solid, nothing loose, strong colors and attractive, thus 2.0 rather than the technical 1.5 that it is before taking the strengths into consideration as well as the weaknesses.

How much do the extra staples affect the grade?

In this grade area? Not much. Negligible, if any at all.

1.5/1.8. I think the chew on the back (affecting pages) would sink the technical grade a bit further.

I think 2.0 is fair. The pieces missing are mostly in non-art areas. The front cover still has nice appeal, nice reds!
