Now, don't be put off by the 6p sticker on this comic (it's that red one again - see earlier thread posts) - it's definitely a printed pence copy. I know, I held it up to the light and everything. And anyway, you'd see the cents price if it was a cents copy. The sticker isn't big enough to cover it. Really.

Look, it's a pence copy alright!

Meanwhile, there's nothing like that feeling you get when you get home after a long hard tour of duty to find your Dad trying to slip your missus one. She'll have to choose of course - Ginger Steve or the Silver Fox. Although Steve's Mum might have a take on proceedings. Can 'punishment for Wendy' be far off?* Well what do you expect from a girl who wears biscuits for earrings hm

*If you understand that reference you're depraved.

Keep it up! :)

No, it should be 'Little Genius', 'Little'. 'Li'l'? That's nonsense!

'Li'l! I ask you!

Afternoon :)

We're up to 413 confirmed Charlton pence copies now boys and girls - nearly half of what may turn out to exist:

413.PNG.cf57dfe5bcf1bf5c5b516aa63edcf1bc.PNG

I've got 313 of them now. I know, I know. It keeps me occupied. I had some fun the other day printing labels for the red dividers I posted pictures of earlier in the thread. Dymo's come on a bit since I last used it. None of the old manual work with the raised white wording in thick black plastic. It's all sleek automation now:

chbox.thumb.jpg.ab415f4f2f53b51092aa1eb380eef55f.jpg

Some of the titles are a bit long though. Gorgo and Konga are supportively short, but Cynthia Doyle, Nurse in Love is pushing it a bit.

Talking of our Cynthia, and her requirement to always be standing in a door way, it's always ice when you discover that your duplicate copies are different to the existing ones isn't it. Two examples here:

First up, Cynthia, with a big miscut at the top:

502958756_CynthiaDoyleNurseinLove67(Vol.2)December1962(9d).thumb.jpg.6764e7165c5a0146e45d931c9ff01b1a.jpg  cde.thumb.jpg.5fefaa02c01143e68653e22945697e32.jpg

What a whopper! Give me a bad cut on my second copy any day of the week :headbang:

cde2.jpg.8d6ab1cea98f6ceca8fa1d9eed96456b.jpg

Next up, Space Adventures! One very grey, one very blue.

And just look at the pants on that guy. Is he rocking the purple and green or what? Or pink and green, in the other cover.

sab.thumb.jpg.5c023f64a322a007b2ac372e351eb39a.jpg  sag.thumb.jpg.2c8b7070a50146db88b1b2a6e6bfb5c2.jpg

Me like! :headbang:

P.S. If you want to know whether the guy at the hospital is one of the robots you are convinced have taken over the world, look for the subtle giveaway of a massive rectangular grid on his forehead.  It's a sign.

Well spotted with these. Not something I would have readily noticed.

Is the guy from the hospital one of the robots btw?

Thanks in advance.....

This is nice isn't it. Deceptively simple cover. Nice colouring. Looks just great. It arrived this morning and takes my personal tally up to 333 pence copies now. And 4 US price variants. Only 500 or so to go. What else can we do on a Monday :)

So, I've been away for six months (It feels like years) doing intensive lurid research on the hollywood movie offered up as a CB De Mill production  "Off on a Comet" the cult classic. I offer up my intensive research here to you all with a bit of a spolier alert. The movie was sadly never made but they did do a trailer. To confuse things a bit more, meeting the stars would have been challenging since it was to be animated. Perhaps Gorgo had a walk on role and ate several of his admirers explaining why the publicity seems to have been a bit muted.

Sadly, I've found no evidence of any living members of the Treasure toy club or of the winner of the swimming pool.  Concerned readers who have had their drivers licenses revoked and have time on their hands are welcome to pursue those aspects of the genre.   Here's that link.

All hail the return of The Glassman!  (worship)

May his visit be long and enduring! May his commentary be wild and fanciful! Yet unerringly accurate. May his fork lift drivers licence be returned, duly embossed, forthwith! May Gorgo baulk at the taste of his posts, and leave them be in honour - with a u - of posterity and the future reading pleasure of three men and a canine like Sparkenwood!

Praise him!

Welcome back Pete :)
