Action Comics #1000 Uncanny Comic Shop Variant-Question Please Help

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the separate thread on this but I’m looking for advice on something and I also want to see if anyone is in the same boat as me. So back in February I preordered the Tony Daniel Action Comics #1000 variant in both a Trade Dress and a CGC Graded Virgin copy from The Uncanny Comic Shop out of Florida.  The owner has now since closed his brick and mortar store, rather abruptly from what I can gather, but is seemingly still doing business online.

Now I understand it takes time for CGC to get books graded and that convention season slows grading down. However, we are now about four months away from when Action #1000 was released. I have seen several other CGC graded Action # 1000 variants online for sale. I have also sent emails to the owner and have received a response back only after about every third email. My emails have been spread out and I have not sent a lot of them. When I do email I try my best to not come off impatient or rude. I understand that if this is truly out of his hands, me emailing him and coming off as an impatient jerk is not going to help the situation. One time when he responded,he claimed that my email went into his spam folder. Each time he has responded blaming CGC and the convention season as the reason for the delay. My latest two email follow ups have been met with no response at all.

I’m a patient person and understand things take time, but as I see other Action #1000 variants and also other books that have come out after Action #1000, CGC graded and for sale online and as I consider that this individual no longer has a brick and mortar shop, I start to feel as if I’m being screwed here. All of that coupled with the poor and often no response to my emails has me concerned. So my questions are:

Did anyone order a CGC graded Tony Daniel Action Comics #1000 variant online from The Uncanny Comic Shop out of Florida and if so, have you received it yet?

Also, should I give it a little longer because this is likely CGC holding up the process or is it time to take other measures? Suggestions are welcome.

Again, there just seems to be a concerning mix of things with the time that has transpired since Action #1000’s release, the poor communication and the fact that the individuals business abruptly closed.

Any help or feedback anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Four months isn't unheard of. Between Con seasons, the regular speed of CGC turnarounds, and if he had to close his physical location, I could buy that. I think if you didn't receive them after 6 months, then I'd be worried.

I actually ordered 2 sets raw, received them quickly with no problems and am just waiting on the signature series slab one of the virgin covers to get back to me through a facilitator. Yes, Con season does slow down return times. Especially, the bigger the order, the longer it may wait to be processed actually as CGC wants to try to get the smaller customer orders back in their hands while dealers (that is, assuming Uncanny has a dealer account perhaps) usually wait a bit longer for their turnaround on books.

UPDATE: 9.8 Virgin on its way back!
