I wish I had had the $ at the time for this "krap".

It was very nice "krap".

I'm not bidding in this one. Well, I'm not bidding any more in this one. I just sent a check to pay for my thrill-bid surprise win from last time.

That's what credit cards are for man.  What kind of American are you?

The kind with no debt, not enough savings, and too many comics.

Here's a story.

"Hey man, debt or no debt?" the stranger asked me.

"Uh, no debt. Thanks for asking," I said.

"But have your ever seen one of these?" he said with a flourish. As the words left his lips, he swept open his trench coat. I braced for the worst but couldn't turn my eyes away, and then I saw it. It practically shined from the shadows of his trenchcoat. I had been looking for a nice-presenting, slabbed, mid-grade copy of Mister Chisel #3 to complete my Rex Rexvesterson cover collection.

And there it was, with this stranger.

"I do take credit cards," he said.

I'm telling the wife and kids now that we are "comic-poor".

Seems accurate and fitting.  :sorry:

Explain this please... Has the world gone crazy?  Hope the buyer actually pays $1600 for this book.  It's not even over.

Two ASM 252's

Old Label White sitting at $550

New Label OW-White sitting at $1600

Did someone accidentally slab cocaine with the $1600 book and the buyer wants to get it back?

I don't know about the cocaine thing but as the owner of a 9.8 sitting with CL for eventual auction, I can confidently say that I wouldn't expect to get paid if my copy "sold" for $1600+

I saw that too, and about fell out of my chair. Has to be an error bid. Bidder must have thought he was bidding on another book.

I got a few books I'm happy with this goaround, and still in on one more that ends tonight.  The OAAW really pops with the pink demons, and the WF is really hard to find in grade.  The Piracy, well, one of the few EC titles I collect.

I collect Piracy too, but only Gaines copies.  Dig it!

For me, this is a Comic Link win. I love the Sienkiewicz rendition of Elektra!
