Slab yes or no?

I would say just do the math, and compare the costs/benefits against your own personal preferences.

Step 1:  Take some pictures from all angles and post them in the 'please grade my comic' subforum.

Step 2:  Use the estimated grades you get from step one to CONSERVATIVELY estimate your selling price WITHOUT grading.  Make sure you factor in all selling costs and the time it takes to sell.

Step 3:  Conservatively estimate your selling price WITH grading.  Make sure you factor in all selling costs and the time it takes to sell.

Step 4:  Calculate the cost of grading:  Include shipping to and from Florida, insurance, customs, other fees, grading, possibly taxes, opportunity cost, the time value of money (if that matters to you), exchange rate (assuming you're in Canada).  Consider your grade risk too (getting a higher or lower grade than expected)

Step 5: Consider other factors - do you think the price of the comic will go up or down?  What are your ultimate goals?  Display, put in a box? Sell now or later? Gift for a friend?  What are your risk preferences?  What is the profit threshold you need to meet to slab?  DOes being in Canada affect your ability to sell or grade?

Optional Steps:  consider pressing or fast track?

After doing all this, you can make your decision for yourself.

OP hasn't said what their intentions are for slabbing. If its to make money on the book then as mentioned not a very good idea. If you just want it slabbed to hang on your wall then go for it. $20 dollars plus shipping is your slabbing price.

and post them in the 'please grade mycomic' subforum.

Is this in the CGC?
