In a recently published peer reviewed paper Norwegian chemist Nel Mattson describes a clear resin that promises greater durability than plastics currently used in securing collectibles such as coins, cards and comic books.  The new plastic known by the proprietary number 4119 has been given the name Polyalgoricine.  Besides crystal clarity it's properties include UV protection, sealing resilience and most importantly total environmental non-toxicity.  The developer claims the material is odorless and doesn't float, poses little risk to dead sea life and since it isn't susceptible to temperature fluctuations, it doesn't break down, even in harsh conditions such as volcanoes and landfills.  In theory, this material can preserve items secured within it's extruded structure for a millennium anywhere, including space.
