Robin/Tim Drake question 0

Just curious...

 

I was wandering thru Ebay today and noticed that CGC lists Batman #457 as "1st appearance of Tim Drake as Robin", while listing Batman #442 as "1st appearance of Timothy Drake in Robin costume". I was hoping someone could explain the difference to me ... my brain was starting to hurt trying to figure it out.

I think in 442 he was not officially called Robin, as he just tried on the costume.

Yes, he just wore the costume without Batman's authorization in 442. Batman eventually made him the new Robin.

Why, that little so-n-so. Kids these days...just can't keep their hands off stuff. "Don't touch" means "don't touch". Surprised he didn't bust into Bruce's liquor cabinet.
