A change of venue might be because...(1) the dealer's room will be a little bigger and all dealers will be in one location, as opposed to spread out over two rooms and a patio.

A change of venue might be because...(2) there will be more parking.

A change of venue might be because...(3) there are more eateries within walking distance.

All three are good...

A fourth reason is the new venue is closer to my house.  But I don't think Terry had that in mind when he made the change.

At SDCC,Terry O told me that the hotel has a free shuttle to John Wayne Airport (Orange County) SNA, so attendees do not have to rent a car and fight the always crazy traffic.

Spend all your money at the con.  South Coast Plaza is the largest shopping center on the west coast, and currently second in the US to the Mall of America in Bloomington.  West Edmonton Mall in Canada is the largest mall in North America.  At South Coast Plaza, you can have bespoken shoes made at Berlutti or John Lobb or if you are well connected, purchase a Birkin Bag at Hermès.

Good news, we were able to get the hotel to add more rooms to Friday for the special show rate!

So bring the whole family, go to Disneyland, shop the mall, go to the Beach, meet the comic Artists,

drop books off with CGC , shop at the Comic Swap and CalComicCon all in one weekend. T.

The new location is great for me.  Only about 5 miles from my house.  For those coming from out of town, there are plenty of good restaurants nearby, the beach is about 10 minutes south, and Disneyland is about 15 minutes north on the freeway.

With their new store in Orange, I would think Torpedo would want to set up at this show.

I worked at South Coast Plaza for 11 years.  You can avoid the hotel's $10 parking fee by parking at the mall and walking the pedestrian bridge over Bristol Street to the hotel.
