Golden Age Books With High CGC Counts?

I found it most interesting to see the growth in number of slabs from the last year.

Even though CGC has been going for 20 years now, Mad #1 and FC #386 increased their number of slabbed copies almost 15% last year alone (376 to 427 for Mad and 310 to 356 for FC). Supposedly tough to find Tec #225 added 10% to its graded numbers in the last year, and even mega-key Bat #1 has added a dozen slabs in the past year. Meaning that someone has sent in a Bat 1 to CGC for grading every single month for the past 20 years.

I had noticed this. Lots of 225s after the surge in price. Things have cooled down a bit since then.

I know the census isn't completely accurate all the time due to resubs and CPRs when the label isn't returned but it gives a pretty good idea.  I wonder how many of the major GA keys sit in alien slabs.  Some may been in CGC cases but sent in to Voldy or even PGX hoping for higher grades and missing the restoration on a CGC restored book.

Still a lot of super nice raw books out there off the radar too. For most long time collectors unless you plan on selling it not much reason (for most) to ever have it slabbed.

That's actually less than I would have expected, and I would expect that there are still many more to come.  

We've always known that Batman 1 is the most common of the GA mega-keys, by far.

I never thought of it in monthly terms until Sean's post.  Breaking that number down into a per month calculation, this translates into 83 Spidey 300s every month of CGC's existence. 

As a grader, how do you keep your eyes from glazing over when you get your 200th or 300th #300?  I think I'd be going through the motions by that point.

 Did a quick review of total census issues for the following books in descending order ( I think this will cover where things were left with Valiant at “90”    Pep 22 really is the mega key “ census rarity”  by far. Another tidbit , Census numbers have really picked up the last 5 years except for pep 22 and Tec 27 from what I can remember......
