Jack Sparling and John Tartaglione X-Men #30 Story Page 4 Marvel Girl and Professor X Original Art (Marvel, 1967)
We see the titular Warlock and his astonishing magic powers on this page from the Roy Thomas story "The Warlock Wakes!" We love that large half-splash page panel with the Pegasus (Pegasuses? Pegasii? ... let's just call them Mutant Horses). Rendered twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.5" x 18.75".
Joe Jusko Warlord of Mars #16 Cover Original Art (Dynamite Entertainment, 2012).
With the dynamic use of light and shadow for which Jusko is rightly famed, this stunning portrait of Dejah Thoris as she rises from the red haze of John Carter's eyes, seems jump right off the page. Created in acrylic over graphite on Bristol board with a matted image area of 14" x 23", and overall size of 21" x 30".
Berkeley Breathed Billy and the Boingers Bootleg Re-creation Illustration Original Art (1988).
Billy and the Boingers Bootleg is the fifth collection of the comic strip series Bloom County by Berkeley Breathed. Creator and illustrator Breathed has reproduced Bill the Cat as featured on cover for the hilarious parody, just a year before the strip ended. Created in ink and marker over graphite on thick illustration board with an edge to edge image area of 20" x 27",
Mike Allred Back Issue #72 Cover Metal Men Original Art (TwoMorrows Publications, 2014).
Those malleable marvels, the Metal Men, are cover-featured for this issue dedicated to comic book robots! Mike Allred's art style is perfect for these characters, as he manages to capture their serious side, with just a dash of the wacky weirdness that always seems to crop up in a Metal Men story. Produced in ink and blue pencil over graphite on Dark Horse Comics Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 10".
