Phantasmo - he really needed to put some pants on some of his covers.

Wardrobe malfunctions aside, I was quite amused the idea of a superhero spending years in Tibet mastering the mystic secrets of grand high lamas and using a new civilian name to start a new life, in addition to astral projection and the ability to grow to enormous size.

From The Funnies #53 (March 1941, Dell Comics):

The Black Condor's origin is a good one.  Adopted by a condor as an orphaned baby, raised in a nest high up in Mongolia, this act of nurture by itself allows a wingless ape to develop the power of avian flight.

I'll leave Jack Cole's Plastic Man for Mike to enthuse about later.  I'm not greedy.

There's enough genius from him for both..... make that, ALL of us Paul. I'll put in 4.

There is genius here.  Not just just the character, Plastic Man.... but the author and artist Jack Cole.

He created it. It's not a super hero.  It's a story about something that happened to a guy.

He could stretch.

We've all seen that happen.
