Kirby's brilliant splash pages (post em if you have em) 0

I was paging thru my copy of FF 57 and ran across this splash of the moment Doom steals the Silver Surfer's Cosmic Power.

Kirby felt it was important enough to warrant a full page illustration.

The art is jaw dropping.  SO freaking awesome!

So ..... let's see some full page Kirby greatness.

Just staying with Fantastic Four, my first thoughts were the killer splashes from FF annual 6.

Too often Reed is depicted as slightly built, almost frail. This is Mr. Fantastic.

There’s another splash that shouldered to the front of the line. FF 7.

I rediscovered this one while looking up that. From FF 8.

I can't remember the circumstances, but I believe this is the first image of the Hulk I ever laid eyes on.

I like how his shoes are still on.  It's so rare to see the hulk with shoes on.

The Hulk was never my favorite one, but I do love all the OG Marvel heroes. I couldn’t really get into the Silver Age stories, but I was pretty fond of the bronze issues. When Peter David started writing him, The Hulk moved up quickly!
