I wonder if CGC would refuse to grade this due to the mold.

Looks active and aggressive to me.

They would have to evacuate the facility and call in a napalm strike.

Rancid mold + rusted-out staple = 1.8 tops I say.

Is there a policy that CGC won't grade books with mold?

I have no idea.

I'm imagining opening that comic and WHHOOOSH out come the spores.  A pic of the inside would be interesting but this seller isn't worth contacting.

If I bought that, I would open it outside.

That's a tough one.  You don't want to send that in to CGC with ANY mold on it.  I would suggest looking for information on getting it cleaned...if it's possible.  Just my opinion of course.  I don't know what kind of grade to give it.  Sorry.

I'm just trying to get a reasonable estimate of the grade. So that I can bid accordingly.

This is the first time I have seen a book being graded 1.8 and 8.0 in the same thread.

I’m pretty sure the mould/spores/foxing is Covid 2+2=5/trimming ain’t resto 19
