Weekend Auction #3
3 3

100 posts in this topic

Thought I could also offer some books for out-right sale first but am running late so just the auction this time.

Rules:

All books are returnable within 2 weeks of purchase for any reason. Paypal, CK, or MO accepted. International buyers welcome if you can pay for shipping that includes tracking. If you are well known on the boards and international, your books will ship in a timely manner upon any form of payment. If you are international and unknown to me, you’ll either have to pay by CK or MO, or have a long-time ever-present boardie vouch for you directly to me.

Shipping costs are exact costs for US shipping however you want it shipped. Default shipping in US is USPS Priority mail Box. If shipping ends up being more than what you’re charged, I’ll refund the difference.

No bidders of ill-repute, yadda yadda yadda.

This auction will end 9 PM Eastern time Sunday night and all bids must be in by 8:59:59 PM to be valid. If the time stamp on your bid says 9:00 PM or later you were too late. I will recap Monday AM (won't be online Sunday night). I will set a BIN of $1000 for each book to conform with what I believe are the rules. Nothing implied re: comic value in the BIN, I’d just prefer this to be an auction. If two people make the exact same dollar bid, the first poster wins. Any winning bid needs to be $10 or more greater than prior top bid, otherwise it is not valid.

There are 4 auctions, one for each book. Bidding starts at $1 for each book. Bid increments must be $10 minimum. Anything else that needs clarifying, feel free to alert me by post in this thread.

To add a slight wrinkle this week, I’m offering bonus freebie books; one book can be claimed by each winner. The highest  winning bid of among the 4 books gets first choice, second highest winning bid gets second choice, etc.

Bonus Books (like the auction books, returnable for a full refund for any reason):

1. Jumbo #96- pretty nice, tight book with nice pages in 4.5-5.o range but a horrific cut on right side of book that chops off maybe a quarter inch of the  book. Not sure if bad printer cut or what, but story not affected so judge value for yourself.

2. Grips #1 7.0-ish. This is hands down the worst comic I ever read, but for some reason it’s popular, probably solely due to Grips being an (ersatz) Wolverine.

3. Crypt of Shadows #3 9.0 I will deslab this and send as raw unless you want to pay for the extra shipping weight of the slab.

4. Justice Traps the Guilty #64 3.0 ish

5. Scarlet In Gaslight- something like a TPB looks new.

Auction books to follow.

Auction books:

CDNP #58 CGC 8.0

Jungle #95 CGC 9.0 Crippen copy. Colors vibrant on this one.

Silver Surfer #2 7.5 some minor stress/indents on fc consistent with grade. Great pages. Presents better than technical grade.

Book 4- board choice. The first title and age (GA, SA, or BA) that is requested by 2 different boardies, I’ll dig something out. Don’t ask for Mask or Seven Seas GA.

Blue Bolt vol 7. No. 5 ~4.5.  Creases consistent with grade, small tear inner page shown in last pic.
