grider67
Looking for reviews on a high powered desk lamp blacklight. What do you use? Lamps that did not live up to the hype? Appropriate watts and brightness? Questions such as this. Thanks for the input. Edited November 12, 2020 by grider67

Tony S
Black lights give the inexperienced a false sense of security. Those who are really good at detecting restoration are using their eyes and touch That said, if you get a standard desk lamp (takes a regular screw in bulb) you can get 20 watt fluorescent UV bulbs at Home Depot or similar for not much $$. A 20 watt fluorescent is about the same brightness as a 75 watt incandescent bulb. So should be plenty bright enough
Motor City Rob
If you are trying to determine if a book has color touch, the best way to go, in my opinion, is to hold the book up to a regular incandescent or LED light. Open up the cover and look through the back side of the front cover into the light. Again, in my opinion, this is much better than using a black light.
