Hi I'm a newbie at collecting comic art and wondered if you guys could help me, originally posted in newbie questions but thought maybe wrong place to put it.

Now before posting I did read up on transparencies and with that asked the seller if the back board/paper had anything on to which he said yes... it looks like a direct transfer from the acetate to the paper and just wanted you opinions if they are original ink drawings from the comic production process or are they just because of age and have printed from the acetate to the paper.

Please let me know and thanks in advance for your help

difficult to tell from a picture on the internet.

looks to me like inking was done on a bristol page, and for storage they have placed a piece of vellum over the original art. A copy of the original art was made on acetate which is placed over top of the vellum which is over the original art so it can be viewed/ displayed. This explains the double images seen in some of the pics.

Are they the original? At this stage it is possible. As these are likely to be pricey pages it might be worth seeing them in person to get a better idea.

No original artwork here. This process was used for some of the graphic novels where they colorized the original black and white stories and added some backup stories. Different publishers used slightly different processes and I've seen many slight versions, but the take away is that there are no original pencils or inks on any of that materiel you've posted. They are neat parts of the publication process and have some historical value, but nowhere near what the originals would fetch.

Thank you so much! That definitely collaborates what I found out about it albeit not much, I believe these are from the First Publishing Book I. At what part of the process would these likely be? Before the added the colour?
