  1. Thanks to everyone who came! Met a bunch of boardies and hope to see even more of you next year! -Gene Long line to get in, but moved very quickly. First 250 attendees received a free swag bag with comics from Dark Horse, Image, and/or Boom Studios, some lucky attendees got hardcovers, trades and ratio variants. We took auction consignments onsite. Stan Lee signed Cap 3 coming up in our first Golden Age-only auction in a couple weeks! Kelley Jones and John Beatty had a line of fans most of the day. Main stage was in the same room so you could browse comics and catch panels without missing out. TMNT artist Mateus Santolouco came all the way from Brazil to be part of the show! Bill Ponseti wall Mr. Bedrock Peat Monster had some amazing GA in his booth I shared a few mildly interesting insights during my keynote. For the first time in 4 years, X-Men is outselling Amazing Spider-Man on Shortboxed. Will this hold for the year? Artist Jason Shawn Alexander did an interview on stage Dr. Adam Rapp gave a fascinating talk on American history through the lens of comic books. The talk will be added to YouTube soon and I'll share it here. Worth a watch! YouTuber Swagglehaus Comics gave a talk on the state of the market and collecting. We took pics of booths, too. Still processing and will add those later!
  2. Awesome! Glad you can make it Any dealers in particular you're looking forward to seeing?
  3. Glad to hear you had a good time! Can confirm there will be even more amazing GA this year. Fingers crossed those deadlines magically disappear before the weekend
  4. For those attending, CGC will be onsite - not an authorized dealer, but official CGC will be accepting submissions for all collectibles (not just comics). If you're in/around the Bay Area, this will be a great opportunity to drop off submissions in person.
  5. If you're wondering what the vibe is like, check out this quick 1:26 video from last year's show:

  7. We're excited to share that yes, Seller Badges are on the way, set to launch either today or tomorrow! This feature has been in the pipeline for some time, and we can’t wait for you to see it. We'll share a blog post with all the details, and of course, you’ll be able to check out the new badges in the app once the update is live. Our aim has always been to create a fair marketplace for both buyers and sellers. To maintain a trustworthy environment, we do have measures in place to deal with sellers who don’t fulfill orders or buyers who often drop off at checkout. Unless there’s a serious issue or a pattern of misbehavior, we typically look for repeat issues before considering suspensions. A one-off incident won’t lead to an account being suspended. We’re all about keeping the marketplace reliable and enjoyable for everyone involved. - Crowe, Head of Marketing
  8. Hey @Gambold Vintage, this post was brought to our attention, and we’ve just sent a response to you via email. Typically, when someone sends us an email during our non-working hours, an Out Of Office (OOO) response is sent automatically to them to prevent this type of concern. Our system shows that one was sent to you. Will you please make sure you received this email? There is a possibility that it got filtered into your spam folder. For future reference, or just in case others in this thread shoot us an email and don't receive a prompt response - here is what our OOO email says: Thanks again for using Shortboxed - I hope you enjoy the book! Let us know if we can do anything else for you. - Crowe, Head of Marketing at Shortboxed
  9. Thank you! Glad you had a good time. Our goal was simply to put together the best dealer lineup possible and I think we did a pretty good job. However, it seems that it may have been at the expense of having more value-oriented dealers, so we'll make sure to have all bases covered next year.
  10. This is excellent feedback, thank you for sharing! Re: Dealer and Artist signage - noted! We've already made plans to switch to floor stand signage for dealers and artists instead of table banners, since most dealers also have their own signage above the racks. Re: Dealer Variety - also noted! I agree we should have more value-oriented dealers. We actually upgraded Lee's Comics booth from a single 10x10 to the biggest booth at 10x40 just so he could bring his entire inventory, including lots of dollar books. We'll include more value-oriented dealers next year while still keeping big book dealers so all collectors are covered. If anyone else has feedback or suggestions, please don't hesitate to share!
  11. Thanks Ben! Glad to had a good time May I ask for any feedback to make next year's show even better?
  12. Thanks to all the boardies who came! Saw lots of familiar faces and met others for the first time. Overall it was a huge success for our first show. Quick recap: Nothing but comic book dealers, comic book artists, and comic-focused main stage talks. 22 dealers, who all seemed fairly happy with the show - a handful of them did some crazy numbers including a dealer who said it was his best show EVER in 25+ years. 9 artists, many of whom said this was the best and/or most fun show they've ever done, including Kelley Jones. 6 great main stage talks with full audiences. Lots of raffle prize winners including someone who walked away with a $10k Wow Comics #10 9.0 Crowely Pedigree single highest graded; the winner took a gamble and bought a lot of raffle tickets and it paid off! 700+ happy collectors with lots of space to move around and not bump elbows. A few random pics below. Panoramic shot of the convention hall:
