I may have posted some of these in the past with my old scanner. This one was put into a magazine sized holder. Tied for highest. I picked this up from a local collector from Md. 12 years ago. 2nd highest. At 6.0, tied for highest grade. This one is kind of tough to find, I think. I would love to know the providence of this copy. Was there a Mile High copy? I don't have a catalog list. I remember bidding on that DS13 on ebay. Unheard of grade and, until recently, unheard of price.

Great books! Edgar did have a DS 13, but Chuck listed it as being only a FN, so this must be another copy.
Sqeggs
There are a few high-grade Bakers out there, but not many. This one is my highest graded. szav, Ricksneatstuff, torontodesignguy and 1 other

Sqeggs
I think this is the last of my very small group of Baker romance graded 9.2 and higher. Funnybooks and torontodesignguy

29dukedog
Damn, we have some pretty Bakers. My curiosity will eventually get the better of me with my raw DS 16, and I'll have to submit it. torontodesignguy, Point Five and Funnybooks
29dukedog
This one has a stellar cover, but the book has other issues I won't get into again. No immediate plans to sell, so who cares. That big number in the upper left is still just an opinion. torontodesignguy

One of the cool parts of the hobby is taking a risk that like that and having it come through. Although overgrading is rampant on eBay, there are some sellers who go the other way because they don't want to get involved in hairsplitting over grades. Some, of course, aren't familiar with grading jargon and think "Very good" means the same as "really good."

Last book I need to complete my Baker St John romance run. Unless I missed it, I don't think one has been offered for sale publicly in the five years or so I've been paying attention. We've all bartered, sold, and/or traded amongst each other at some time. It's been a long road. Edit: Tony has really been more determined than just collecting for a long time! Some, of course, aren't familiar with grading jargon and think "Very good" means the same as "really good." That was the case with this seller. When he said, "Very Good", he meant it literally, and was not using the nomenclature that we collectors are familiar with. Probably a big part of why the bidding competition was so reluctant on that one.
