As a restaurant manager and having reviewed numerous posts (including some by myself), I know that people share experiences frequently when things go wrong and not frequently when things go right. So I'm hoping for good karma with my restaurant by informing everyone of a great e-Bayer. I'm not sure if he posts here or not. But anyways I picked up two ASM coppers in an auction from samco1, and the items were just as described plus he included a 7.5 maybe 8.0 copy of ASM 239 for free. Great freebie in my book! I highly recommend this e-Bayer.

WOW!

No kidding, right? Talk about going above and beyond. I paid a higher price than I expected for the two ASMs, but I'm 200% satisfied with how this turned out!

err...

Most people around here aren't fond of his listing style.

Fair enough. For the other side of my coin on e-Bay sellers, check out the recent thread about "another find e-Bay seller". Very similar listing style I'd say. But listing styles out of the question, this guy went above and beyond AND delivered on his promises. I've said that e-Bay is an easy place to get burned, and you get so many sellers that let you down. I'm just sharing a transaction that turned out to be greater then what I expected. Maybe I got lucky, maybe freebies aren't handed out to everyone that buys from him, but I feel I owe it to the seller to share the experience.

The first Comic I ever won off Ebay was from Samco. Paid immediately but never got the book. Contacted seller, he said he looks after it. However I never got my book nor my money. Fortunately it was only about 20 $ plus 12 $ postage (overseas). Needless to say I will never bid again at Samco.

I'm glad that you are happy with your purchase. (thumbs u

However, before anyone reading this goes off and starts bidding up a storm, I think it would be delinquent of me not to 'balance the books', so to speak.

I bought from Samco1 on three seperate occasions in the past, during my early days on eBay. All books were overgraded, a few ludicrously so, and a couple of them had undisclosed restoration. :(

My personal recommendation would be to avoid like the plague, but as they say, your mileage may vary.

Ditto.

Look for black powdery color touch.

100% correct.

Which suggests that he does his own work.

I have to agree with most of the posters here. Ive personally never bought anything from this dealer but have looked at his auctions for years. Everytime he has something I need to fill a hole, it looks way overgraded to me. Dont know the man, but i just avoid sellers who list books that are obviously not graded in the ballpark.

And how they maintain such high feedback ratings is a mystery to me.Just my 2c

I've made about three eBay orders from SAMCO1 and was dissatisfied every time. Heavy overgrading and poor packaging. Never again.

First thing that popped into my mind.

Btw, Mr. Diggler :hi:, for some reason my girlfriend always sees your 'sexy girl' photo that's attached to your posts and assumes I'm looking at porn. Couple that with the actual porn she catches me looking at and it's not good for the BJ buiness.

I've bought a few overgraded books from this tool myself.

Here is a example of a purchase that was eBayOverGraded as a F/VF I believe.

Note the fanning of the pages and the rusted top staple, not disclosed and accompanied by a crappy scan. I learned quickly and stopped buying from him. Luckily I didn't pay "top dollor" for them.
