Wow...so Brolin's catching up to Ryan Reynolds comic book territory (Hannibal King, Deadpool, Green Lantern) now that he's got Jonah Hex, Thanos, and Cable.

I bet the other kids from The Goonies are jealous. Sean Astin's somewhere out there going, "at least I was in LOTR!"

Josh Brolin has been in quite a few comic book movies.

- Jonah Hex (Jonah)

- Men In Black 3 (Agent K)

- Sin City: A Dame To Kill For (Dwight)

- Guardians of the Galaxy; Avengers: Age of Ultron; Avengers: Infinity War (Thanos)

- Old Boy (Joe) - Japanese manga series turned into animation and live movie

- Deadpool 2 (Cable)

Not sure who else tops him. Though maybe Samuel Jackson or Morgan Freeman have roles all over the place, so wouldn't be surprised if they are up there.

Huh - I didn't know that Old Boy was originally a Manga.

For number of on-screen comic book roles, Chris Evans at least matches Brolin, with:

Captain America

Scott Pilgrim

The Losers

FF

TMNT

Snowpiercer

Looks like 2018 will be the year of Fox-Marvel.

Deadpool 2, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, New Mutants Get Release Dates

Quote

20th Century Fox has given official release dates to three upcoming X-Men movies.

New Mutants will open on April 13, 2018. Deadpool 2 will follow on June 1, 2018. The next core X-Men movie, now confirmed to be X-Men: Dark Phoenix, will open on Nov. 2, 2018.

New Mutants is being co-written and directed by Josh Boone. The film is inspired by the very first X-Men spinoff series, The New Mutants, which followed a new class of teenage mutants attending Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. In keeping with the tone and tradition of the comic book series, the New Mutants movie is intended to be the X-Men movies franchise's entry into the Young Adult film genre. The film is expected to begin shooting in early May, with production taking place in Montreal and Boston.

Deadpool 2 is the sequel to 2016's underdog, R-rated hit. Ryan Reynolds will return as Wade Wilson, the merc with a mouth. He'll be working with new director David Leitch. While supporting cast members from the first Deadpool movie are expected to return, Deadpool 2 will also give Wade some new playmates. Atlanta breakout Zazie Beetz will play Domino, a mutant mercenary with the gift of good luck thanks her mutant powers. Josh Brolin will play Cable, the time-travelling mutant soldier/mercenary who gets stuck playing the straight man to Deadpool's zaniness.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be an adaptation of "The Dark Phoenix Saga," generally regarded as the greatest X-Men story ever told. X-Men: The Last Stand previously adapted the story, but fans were generally not satisfied with the results. The X-Men movies' time travel shenanigans have provided Fox with a rare second chance to do the story justice.

Even though Brolin was only officially cast a month ago, he has hit the gym hard and drastically changed his diet in order to get a superhero physique.

"Cable's coming, growing from the inside," Brolin wrote. "Clean building from a past of donut travel to the present hard case that he is. No sugar. No bread. No pastas. The machine is being built. I'm pissed off."

DEADPOOL 2: Josh Brolin Continues To Tease His CABLE Transformation In A New Workout Video

With the production start date just around the corner, Deadpool 2 star Josh Brolin has been hard at work hitting the gym to get into tip-top shape for his upcoming portrayal of the time-traveling mutant Cable and quite frankly, he's starting to look pretty shredded.

Over the past few weeks, the Academy Award-nominated actor has been sharing brief looks at his intense workout sessions, revealing the immense amount of work he's been putting in to transform himself into the physically-imposing mutant specimen that is Nathan Summers. Along with the two posts, he's also been adding funny captions that contain thinly veiled threats to Ryan Reynolds' fun-loving Merc with a Mouth.

DEADPOOL 2 Adds THE STRAIN Actor Jack Kesy As A Major Villain; Most Likely Black Tom Cassidy

Deadline reports that Jack Kesy (The Strain, Baywatch, Claws) has joined the cast of 20th Century Fox's upcoming Deadpool sequel as a major new villain. Although the site isn't 100% sure which character he'll play, their sources do indicate that it'll be Black Tom Cassidy.

Marvel Comics fans will most likely know this ruthless fella as Banshee's cousin, who has the power to manipulate, bond with, and project energy through plant life. Though he was primarily an X-Men baddie, he did come up against Wade Wilson on a number occasions.
