So the question is are they normal. Did the early slabs have what we have today?

They did but not nearly as dramatic or often. They were much harder to see on the previous generations.

Normal? yes.  They are quite common.

Acceptable?  Yes.  People are accepting them.

It's not the end consumer that is keeping CGC rolling. It's the flippers and they don't care how many NR's they get.
