Yes, upon closer inspection the writing looks like "Jean Kieryle" and June/15/41.   Or it could be "Jean Kierzle" or "Jean Kienzle".    It is interesting to me that the scans lose a little bit of clarity when they get posted to this website

I have to assume that this is the date that Jean bought Batman 6.  I've seen lots of arrival dates but I think that this is the first time that I've ever seen a purchase date.

Thanks!   The ones shown above are mostly mid-grade comics, but they are fun.  But I also have a CGC'd Mile High Action 71 and Mile High Detective 155.  I broke both of them out of the plastic because I figured I would never sell them, and I just wanted to be able to touch them and see up close what a Mile High looks like.

Thanks to the great feedback I got from you all from my first post, I've decided to post some more of my favorite covers from the golden age.   First, a few Batman covers:

Note:  The Detective 155 is the Edgar Church copy.

And now some more of my favorite Superman golden age covers.  Notice how Superman and Batman had similar stories during this period.   For example, the bride of Superman and the bride of Batman.  The snow covers of Detective 119 and Action 116 were similar.  I also have the Batman Indian Chief and Superman Indian Chief, but did not include scans of those covers.

p.s.  The Superman workbook (which replicates the Superman 14) is shown;  also the Edgar Church copy of Action 71 is shown.

Awesome books!  What is the Superman workbook? Never heard of it. Same on both sides of covers?

Yes, the Superman Work Book has the same cover on front and back.   It was an educational comic book (produced in the 1940's, I believe).

What I showed above is the front cover of Superman 14 and right below it is the front cover of the Superman Work Book.

I think you can find it in the price guide under "promotional comics".    Also it can be found on ebay by searching "Superman Work Book".   Someone is asking $2300 for a CGC 3.0 (detached cover).   I'm not sure that price is realistic, but there is also a CGC 8.5 (highest graded) on ebay for $6300.    These work books are very hard to find in high grade.   The cover of mine is still attached but I would only grade it as g/vg because of a pretty rough front cover and even rougher back cover.   It is fun to look at the inside of it... some consider it to be a "variant" of Superman 14.
