Hi all,

I am curious to know if Marvel (or DC) made any other NYC photo composite covers like Daredevil #45 & Sub-Mariner #7?

Appreciate any info. Thanks!

You're welcome.  It was the first one which came to mind. All photo though!

I hate those things.  Thankfully they didn't catch on...FF 33 looks like one.

I'm with you on that, The Superman 289 must have been one of the last comics I bought of the spinner and I wasn't impressed then.

Does this count lol

Fantastic Four 33 is a partial photo cover, I posted my copy as an example, but it is not NYC.  I really have no idea what it is.

Someone please, for the love of God, tell me why Don Rickles is on that cover.

Also, I had read how DC wouldn't let Kirby draw Superman's face, I guess this example is proof.  It's very strange to see two characters so clearly drawn by different people -- it's a composite even before you add the photo.

HA! I just listed this one in my sales thread. I bought it because it is so groovy! This is a much nicer copy than mine though. I really dig the old photo covers like this one and Submariner 7.

These are some cool (& weird) covers.

Since the Daredevil and Sub-Mariner books were in consecutive months, I was curious to see if Marvel tried this will all their titles that year.

Thanks all!

I believe FF #33 is the first photo-montage cover of the Silver Age, but of course it's not of New York City.
