Had you already committed to buy?

Was there a way to still make the purchase?

I could just see me not paying attention, I hope that I don't have to cancel an order....

Hopefully that doesn't become the new excuse for nonpayment...:sorry:

Yeah, that makes sense. Does eBay let sellers take checks and money order now?

Previously, you could accept checks and MO but were not allowed to ask for them. Not sure now.

Some power sellers only take credit cards and have bypassed PayPal before

I thought the big change was the new payment method created or exclusive to eBay

It might be that I am unsure on. I was just surprised by it and thought it was a preemptive move
to move away from Paypal which has to happened soon anyway.

I've had transaction's not accept PayPal, but they didn't have something different to replace it other that CC (credit cards).....

Which was weird, at the time I called ebay and PayPal, they said seller doesn't "have an account configured right", but when I emailed the seller, he said it all looked good on his/her end and that not to worry, I had a week to pay O.olol I didn't know what was up, so just paid with CC.....

My wife buys scrubs on fleabay and has for years. Several of her sellers only take CC's.

She'd love this board. It's full of scrubs.

Was the seller dcomic ?

That seller has been no PayPal forever.

If you don't look very carefully you miss it.

Has quite a record if you look them up on Toolhaus

This isn't anything new and likely has nothing to do with the new PP terms. There are sellers on eBay, including comic sellers, that haven't been taking PP for years. I don't think you will see any sort of shift away from PP until eBay opens up whatever their new payment system is going to be.

No I was just buying some essential oils for my wife and I got this big message
from ebay about seller not using Paypal and some other verbiage about whats
coming soon.

LordRahl is probably right I just haven't run across any seller in years that didn't
take paypal when when I went to email him about it I got a pop up message from
ebay about leaving paypal in 2020.

It was just weird.
