I was visiting a friend in West Palm and let's just say that I wasn't in a sober state of mind...

went outside for a cigarette and leaned up against a palm tree.

I started to feel a burning sensation in my legs.

I looked down and was covered in giant ants of some sort. They were lighting me up! Gods...

I lived in Georgia for a while and we had massive fire ant mounds. But these Florida creatures brought a different sort of pain.

I run back in the house screaming and tearing my clothes off on the way (in front of my friend's GF!) to the shower.

Yeah...ummm...just thought I'd share.

:tink:

We called 'em bull ants.  Were they a dark red with a black abdomen?

They were black. And there were many.

Yes it's all that matters .... oakman could have hosed you down, as he is an exterminator for a living is all...

But he's in California not Florida bless his heart!

Oakman has been known to kill from a distance, merely by thinking of his target.

this is an interesting topic which deserves further research. I pulled these off the shelf a few months ago to send to a friend that's a health nut, until I read the label. tempted to crack them open and just drink the juice.

Ingredients

Mechanically separated chicken.

Chicken Skin/Pork Skin

Corn Syrup

Pork Spleens

Mustard Spices and Paprika - I like how they threw that in.

Natural Flavorings

Pork Stomachs.

And a host of chemicals to preserve these tasty suckers for about 50 years.

Those must be a regional delight - all we have here is Vienna Sausages.  We got them in fire sack lunches on one fire last year, and everyone in my unit was like   - I took them all and used them as dog treats when I got home. My dog loved them.

Back when I was smokejumper, Vienna Sausages were known lovingly (and alternately) as either baby cranks or monkey cranks.
