My top 3.

Hulk was my man back when I was a kid. My 3 favorite comics were TTA 93, TTA 100 and KS 1. I now own art page from 2 of them. Just need a page from KS 1 for the trifecta.

The 2 comics are just cool comics. Can't afford Action #1 so why not get the 1st ever appearance of Superman?

The Bat 1 took most of 2018 to pay off and had to sacrifice some PC comics. I thought I would let my Bat 1 .5 go but just couldn't do it so I have 2 Bat 1's. I'll take a 3rd if the opportunity presents.

Oh my GOD! That Green Lantern 1 is tops on my grail list.

Between you guys with Batman 1 , GL 1, and some crazy Superman books I am beside myself with how much awesome is going on here.😎

This year was marked by my focus to define what my Top 50 comics are, sell those that did not fall into that category, utilize the funds to purchase various 'keys', redetermine Top 50, rinse & repeat.
As such, I picked up a handful of 'keys' throughout the year.
When reviewing this year's haul it was difficult determining which acquisition meant the most to me in 2019.
Whilst these aren't the most expensive (one was free) looking back these are the ones I am happiest about right now.

1. Deadline #1 CGC 8.0
2. Captain America: Civil War Prelude #3 CGC 9.8 signed by Chris Evans, Anthony Russo, and Joe Russo
3. CGC Award for Best Presented Modern Set for my Tank Girl registry set 'Girl U Want'

I agree, but some people would say 54 is better.

I’m embarrassed to post my top 3 from the year because compared to these, it would be like putting copies of Turok 1s next to ASM 1s.

1) Casey Jones sketch cover by the John Totleben

I admired this book from afar for YEARS before the owner finally decided to let it go.  Totleben is mostly known for his Swamp Thing work, but he did some TMNT work in the form of a Casey Jones story in the Mirage Studios days.  Due to his unfortunately deteriorating vision, getting any new art from him is unlikely, so I count myself fortunate to have this example in my collection.

2) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles custom bound books

This year I finally got around to doing something I've wanted to do for years, which was to bind some of my old TMNT comics into a format that makes them much more conducive to reading.  Doing this in a custom way allowed me to also collect issues/stories that are rarely/never reprinted these days.  I LOVE the way they came out!

3) Michelangelo pinup (from Turtle Soup #4) by Jack Kirby

This was my BIG one for the year.  Kirby was a major influence on Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.  As it turns out, later on in Jack's career, he claimed to be a fan of the TMNT and even drew them on rare occasion.  Thanks to an intervention from his frequent collaborator, Mike Thibodeaux, Jack did a single splash page in Turtle Soup #4, which Mike inked.  I now get to view this exact page every day.  :cloud9:
