This deal took almost 4 weeks from start to finish as it involved me sorting through 2500+ books.

The books were stored in 3 different locations so didn't do me any favors. 1st thing was to get them all to 1place to sort by title and put them all in numerical order, which wasn't as easy as it seems due to all of the times Marvel started titles over at issue # 1. I looked up Marvel Legacy numbering charts, which did help a bit but I did have to open many to see what year they were from. One good thing DC does is put the year and month on the covers of their books.

After that grading had to be done. I did buy most when they came out so around 85% were NM/NM+ books. Earlier ones had to be bagged and check to make sure they were all complete.

Next was pricing everything out and figuring out a fair price to both of us, which we surprisingly agreed on right away.

On to how to ship almost 400 pounds of comics safely and cost efficient all the way from NY to CA. I usually go to a US border town to ship big loads but with the border shut tight this couldn't be done. For fun I called the UPS store I use in NY and they quoted me just under $1000.00

Stuck, I called my customs broker and arranged to have them shipped on a pallet to CA from Montreal. Custom paperwork was straight forward and easy.

Last thing was to pack it all up in 14 short boxes. And then place the 14 short boxes into 4 bigger, sturdier boxes, close the boxes and then secure everything on the pallet. 

Once it got picked up, it only took 5 days to arrive in CA.

Shipping with the custom broker was about 400% cheaper than with UPS.

Nearly whole run of ASM 200 to present -most bought off the rack by me as they came out so most are NM or better - no 300 as I had sent that CGC - came back 9.8

Congrats on the sale man! That is a lot of books to ship! You did a great job with the packing/shipping. I’m sure you were tempted to just spend the big money on shipping after the headache of organizing, grading, and packing them up. I’m glad you did your research and it all worked out. I’m also glad you still have your Spideys. Something tells me you’ll never let them go- smart man.
