Was going to post the Wikipedia link also. That's what I used to go through what I plan to send in. Already had a few others when he had the same option last year but will send a couple more this time.

This list is not comprehensive. I am not responsible for errors, although I hope I haven't made any. A few of these credits aren't the obvious ones; the big example there is that he has a writer credit for Giant-Size X-Men #1. Obviously, he's not Chris Claremont! However, he was the writer for the 5-page Cyclops that followed the main one (and before the Iceman story by Arnold Drake, and the Jean Grey story by Linda Fite).

For the record, it's unfortunately impossible to get a GSX1 signed by the entire writing team. Although Claremont, Thomas, and Fite are still alive and active to varying degrees (I don't believe Linda Fite has done convention appearances since circa 2001), Arnold Drake passed in 2007.

I'd recommend getting CLZ and scanning or loading in all your books (I recommend this regardless to catalogue your collection) then searching for Roy Thomas. This will tell you any book in YOUR collection that he was a part of.

Example from my collection.

Side bar, does clz also show fmv of your books after you enter them? So you can see fmv and the cost you paid side by side?

Ive thought about it but my collection is always transient. I buy and sell so Im not sure if its worth my time and effort to catalog.

Unfortunately they only show FMV if you assign a grade and they pull recent sale values from gocollect. Still helpful but it doesn't give you everything you'd hope for.

Random sampling from my collection:

Well most of mine are slabbed, so if I can see cost I paid, and if it automatically sets the fmv beside it after entering slabs and grades, I'd do it

Only took me a few days at a couple hours a day to catalogue 3000 books. And by blanketing a grade I discovered a ton of what I thought was worthless that had huge value currently.

And you can easily remove or add issues at any point.

what do you do about older comics that have no bar code?

You can manually search to find issues, or manually enter issues.

You can enter issues by box, etc... Made it crazy easy to find anything I'm looking for in my collection. Know exactly where it's at without having to group by runs/issue number.

Chris Claremont is said to have provided some uncredited plotting assistance for the main story in Giant-Size X-Men #1, but it was written by Len Wein, who is also no longer with us.

Are you sure about that?  I thought Stan Lee wrote Mar-Vell's first appearance.

I stand corrected. Thanks! :foryou:
