When I was buying back issues in the 1980s - 2000s, centering, wrap, and page quality never entered into my decision. I only learned about those considerations when I joined these boards. This is another example of why I visit this site every day; I learn something new almost every day.

Too bad about the wear on mine, because I have yet to see a better "M" situation!    If anyone does have a better "M" thing going, let me feel better about my well-worn copy a bit longer before posting.

Too bad it's not graded like sports cards.  You might be looking at somewhere between a 4 and 6 for corners, edges, and surface ... but that's a dead-on 10 for centering!!!

#28 on the 28th. Also, now that negative space covers are all the rage, would ASM #28 be the first example of that?

Like the negative space comment. My guess is that the technique was used before but I can’t think of an example just yet. 28 has always been highly prized in real tough to find higher grades.

I was really unhappy at the time over the price I needed to pay for this book, but I can only imagine what someone would be charging for it in today's market so that's a big consolation.

Maybe it's the black cover, that highlights it but most of the 28s shown have some white showing from the inside, even the raw ones.
